Conney Shifflett Obituary
Conney Wayne Shifflett, 63, of Stanardsville went to be with the Lord on August 26, 2008 at Martha Jefferson Hospital.
Conney was born on March 18, 1945 in Albemarle County. He was the son of the late Montella Shifflett and Josephine Houchens.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years Madeline Roach Shifflett; one daughter, Angelia S. Cempr? and her husband Rusty of Ruckersville; two sons Gregory Shifflett and his wife Teresa of Ruckersville and Kevin Shifflett of Ruckersville; three brothers Monty Shifflett and his wife Joan of Louisa, Carl Shifflett and his wife Linda of Ruckersville and Billy Joe and his wife Mary Jo Shifflett of Louisa; two sisters Arline Gibson and Faye Shifflett and her husband James of Ruckersville; and seven grandchildren, Chris Cempr?, Amanda Hoover and her husband Chris, Kylie Cempr?, Ashley Shifflett, Travis Shifflett, Amber Shifflett and Austin Shifflett; special sister and brother-in-law Geneva and Ken Reynolds; and a host of many family members and friends.
Conney was a contractor and fan of Nascar and Football.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M., August 30, 2008 at Stanardsville Baptist Church with Pastor Steve Emory officiating. Interment will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00 P.M. Friday, August 29, 2008 at the Ryan Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Heart Association, National Center, 7272 Greenville Avenue, Dallas TX 75231.
The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Andy McFarland, Dr. Christopher Friend and Dr. Connie Christ, all the nursing staff and technicians on South 6 of Martha Jefferson Hospital.
Ryan Funeral Home of Ruckersville is in charge of arrangements.

Madeline: Conney will be missed because of his smile and humor that he had when he came to the Alb. square Family Healthcare, He was my favorite blood draw, never complaining how badly he did feel, but always thankful to the Lord that he gives us one day at a time. He reminded me of my Father who also has gone to be with the Lord, and I know that conney and my dad have met today. They surely will be quite a pair in heaven.
