Dear Mrs. Rech and Family.
I worked with Dr Rech in the early 80/s at SFRMC. He was so professional in his work. I remember a conversation that I had with him. A few of us nurses were asking him what he got you for Christmas. He seemed to be shy about telling us. We told him that he better not have gotten you a vacuum cleaner or appliance! As it turned out, he told us that he had gotten you a pair of boots. I dont know why I remember that, I just do. My memories of him are that he was a good physician and encouraged the staff caring for clients to be at their best too. God's blessings to him and to you and your families. Ruth Polinder

Sue - my wife and I were saddened to hear about Bruce's death. He was my parents' doctor for many years in Shakopee and I was blessed to have him as a mentor when I moonlighted for his hospitalist practice at Southdale. Sharon and I will pray for you and your family - that God will bring you a peace that surpasses all our understanding at this very sad time in your life. I thank God that we were blessed by knowing Bruce.

Dear Sue, Bryan and Kristin,
As a new physician at Fairview, Bruce helped me feel at home right away. When I had a medical crisis and premature baby, he was 100% supportive and helped me through a difficult time. He was a role model as both a physician and family man. Whenever I looked at the schedule and saw the initials "BR" or walked into our office and saw his hat at the end of the coat rack, I knew it would be a good day. You knew he would always help you if you needed it. Bruce was the glue that kept our group together.
He loved talking about his family and it was obvious how much he loved all of you. I will miss him dearly and I know that Fairview Southdale will never be the same without him. It is obvious that Bruce not only touched my life but many others............

Sue, Kristi, Brian, Juan, and Gretchen- Nancy and I have been reflecting all day. The eulogies were unbelievable, and the strength shown by Greg, Brian, and Kristi cannot be described. As I reflect on my relationship with you over the past 25 years, more and more memories surface. How many internists would be able to capably assist on a life saving surgical procedure (his first time in surgery since med school)? Bruce helped me in that situation and also helped care for the patient (who survived) after the procedure. Our trips to St. John will always be treasured. Sue, we will be there for you forever.

Dear Sue and family: We will miss Dr. Rech and the expertise, support and professionalism that he brought to his role as the Medical Director at St. Gertrude's Health and Rehabilitation Center. I had tremendous respect for him and we had a great amount of fun over the years, both at St. Francis and St. Gertrude's. He talked often of you and Kristie and Bryan, the selection of universities, their marriages to Juan and Gretchen. He was a proud and happy husband and father. Our sympathies and prayers go out to you all during this time.

To Dr. Rech's family
Everyone at Park Nicollet that knew Dr. Rech were so very sorry to hear this news. I worked with him for a number of years and cannot think of anyone who was more professional and caring for his patient's than Dr. Rech.
His patient's had such great respect for him as a physician, as did those of us who had the priviledge to work with him.
He will be missed........

We read with sadness about Bruce's untimely passing. As parents in the swim family of the Chaska Penquins & West Express of years past, we will forever cherish the fond memories of Bruce at the never ending swim meets, campouts, lake swims in Alexandria and the bonds shared. Dr. Rech was an angel to our family, in being my Dad's Doctor on two very serious occasions to the hospital, these past 2 years. My Mother, siblings and myself, on both occasions, had become overwhelmed with decisions (and emotions!, and this dear man gave us such a calm and comforting peace of mind. We were thrilled to see Dr. Rech come to our rescue, just this past April, when my elderly father was back in the hospital. Our family was told that they would be sending a doctor down for our family to talk with. Calmly and serene, Dr. Rech comes down the emergency room hall, like a shadow getting clearer...and we see that we recognize him (from our ER visit last year). My Dad recognized him quickly, and a calmness came over all of us -- especially my Dad.
He touched our lives, and we're thankful.
With deepest sympathies,
Kathleen Healy Twistol, Patty Healy Janssen & Bill Healy...on behalf of our Dad, John Healy.
