Lor and I have been out of state and were so sorry to learn of Marti's passing while we were away. We knew Marti from Charis, and she was also the realtor who sold us our house. She was a wonderful person.

I called her Marta because she really preferred it. Did you know she and Sarah Bridges started the International Festival that has grown to be the huge festival in Tower Grove every summer. I remember it clearly. Marta supported me in business and life. We tried to help each other in our endeavors. I know I will see her again. My love and prayers to her family.

I shared Marti's love for photojournalism and her dream of a regional documentary publication, Side Streets. She was a sometimes student, friend and colleague. The world is reduced by her absence.

Marti took the energy and vision of one person (herself) and spread it to what seems to be thousands of people. While I miss her terribly, I still see her everywhere I go.

I met Marti through mutual friends. We often saw each others in some of the coffee shops in St. Louis. I enjoyed Marti's kind and sensitive advice at difficult times in my life. I will miss her. (Cara Mia). ... I first met Marti's mom Carol when I was Carol's nurse at Barnes Hospital long ago! (Carol was delightful... she gave me a wonderful poem about growing older and a pair of jade earrings as a thank you gift.) I LATER met Marti in the St. Louis community, also through mutual friends. What a down-to-earth, kind person. Her loss is a shock. Our thoughts are with her family.

Dear Frumhoff Family: We are very sorry to hear of Marti's passing. We worked with Marv when purchasing our first home as well as the selling and purchasing of a new home for my mother (Maralynn Sparks) Marv always seemed to light up when he spoke of Marti and her passion for the business as well as for life. I am sorry that we did not meet her personally, but feel that her dad shared a part of her with us. She was truly a bright star. Always remember that when you look to the sky at night and see the stars above, that she is with them, looking down on everyone and smiling. With our thoughts and prayers, Raymond and Linda Corbett

A great light has gone out among us. Marti will be remembered as a super star in the Real Estate community, and the City of St. Louis. Much sympathy and love to the family, you are in my thoughts.

Those of us who had the privilege of working with Marti to help revitalize the City will remember her as a confidence-builder and a terrific leader for the diverse group of "rehabbers". When she asked me to participate in training programs, she was so supportive and made me feel that what we at the Community Development Administration of the City government do was important to the City and to her, too. She was an exceptional individual and will be greatly missed.

There aren't enough words to express my saddness and condolences to Marti's family. Her sudden loss has left a huge void in the real estate community and community at large. May her family and friends focus on her life and accomplishments for comfort and peace. When I'm in the City of St. Louis, I will always think of Marti with a big smile. St. Louis is a better place due to her efforts and love of the city.
