April 7, 2008

We loved Papa with all our hearts. Leia Anne has been very strong through this past week. She is trying her hardest to be brave for her Grandma! She told me she will always remember being with Papa, and it's all going to be ok because Papa was in Heaven and would always be watching her. We were driving home April 1st from being with Grandma and she said "Mom, look...I see the new star! It's Papa's star in Heaven! He see's us!" I am grateful for every second she was able to spend with him. She has so many wonderful memories.
He was the most loveing and kindest hearted man I have ever met. We have been through alot with the Groh family in the past 6 years, and I am grateful everyday for it. We would not be who we are today without having him in our lives. He was always there for us when we needed him! I admired his strength and love for others. We love you Papa..always and forever!

To my dear friend Steve, you were more than just that, you were like a Big Brother to me. You were always a caring & loving person, never talked bad of anyone. You didn't even mind your nickname either. I will miss you busting my chops. Working with you doing landscaping and at Flexcon their was never a dull moment. You always spoke so highly of your wife Robin and of your family. They should be very proud of you, I know I am. I am so lost right now with out you, you were my right hand man. It will not be the same without you, but I do know that you will be looking down at me watching over me, getting a good laugh watching me try to do edging jobs. It has been in deed an honor & a privledge to be your friend. I will never forget you... You will always be in my heart & on my mind...

Papa Groh was a wonderful grandfather to Madelyn. We were so lucky to have known him. He was always there for us. Madelyn will miss picking cucumbers in his garden, she will miss his warm welcoming hugs, his soft smile, and Maddy and I will miss how he could make us laugh when he told a story from his past.
We love you Papa and miss you already!

To Steve's family, I give my sincerest condolences. Steve always spoke so often of all of you, I felt like I knew all of you. He even brought his little buddy to Flexcon one day so we could all meet him; what a cute little guy and the light of Steve's life for sure.

I worked with Steve for many, many years and there just wasn't a nicer guy anywhere. He always had the best comeback for someone and he made all of us laugh all the time. He was a walking sports trivia book; I never met anyone that knew as much about sports as Steve did. He was always helping other people out and he was always looking to keep busy.

Steve, I will miss you very much and I know everyone else that knew you will too. You always had a good word or a joke or a friendly wave whenever we seemed to need it. Great guys are hard to come by and you were tops. Rest in peace Steve.
