Victor Peloquin Obituary

Victor L. Peloquin, 81, of 196 Risley Rd., formerly of Southbridge, passed away Friday, April 4th in the Rockville General Hospital, Rockville, CT, after a long battle with Parkinson's disease.

He leaves his wife of 33 years, Janice A. (Bernier) Peloquin; three daughters, Jilanne Hobson and her husband Brian of Dudley, Ellen J. Savary of Arlington, and Vicki A. Marques and her husband Rui of Vernon, CT; a sister, Anita Archambeault of Southbridge; three grandchildren, Sydney A. Hobson, Brady D. Hobson and Noah V. Marques and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, Roland Peloquin, Clarence Peloquin and Raymond Peloquin and a sister, Lottie Lockhart. He was born in Southbridge the son of Charles and Antoinette (Farland) Peloquin and lived in Southbridge until moving to Vernon four years ago. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II serving in Japan. He was a graduate of Mary E. Wells High School in Southbridge where he excelled in athletics and was voted best athlete by his class.  He was also a graduate of the New England School of Accounting.

Victor owned and operated V.L. Peloquin Insurance and Public Accountant in Southbridge for many years before retiring several years ago. He was a member of the VFW, the Franco American Vets, the Knights of Columbus and the YMCA, all in Southbridge. He was a member and past president of the Tri-Community Exchange club and he served as the Southbridge Town Treasurer. He was an avid golfer and a member of the Cohasse County Club in Southbridge. Most of all Victor enjoyed, loved and cared for his girls.

His funeral will be held on Tuesday, April 8th, at 12:00 p.m. in the Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St., Southbridge. Burial will be in New Notre Dame Cemetery, Southbridge. Calling hours in the funeral home will be held on Monday, April 7th, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Parkinson's Disease Foundation, 1359 Broadway, Suite 1509, New York, NY 10018.
