Luiebelle Daubney Obituary

Luiebelle (Berry) Daubney, 93, passed away on Tuesday, April 22nd, after a short illness in the loving care of her niece and nephew Diane and Raymond Sullivan of Charlton.

Her husband of 60 years, James L. Daubney, died in 1997, after residing in Douglas most of their life together. Luiebelle the daughter of Harry and Susan (Hamblin) Berry of Rockland, ME, was born in 1915 in Whitinsville.

She leaves her caregivers Diane and Raymond Sullivan of Charlton, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews; her brother-in-law, Kenneth Daubney and his wife Pat of Bixby, OK; a sister-in-law, Marjorie Knight of Millbury. She was predeceased by her brother, Josiah C. Berry of Whitinsville, her in-laws, Walter and Elaine Daubney of Chartlon, Alfred and Betty Menard of Uxbridge and Harry Knight of Millbury.

Luiebelle and her husband traveled much of the United States on their motorcycle while in their 60's and 70's. She was also loved reading and watching birds from her den window. She missed her trusted friend and neighbor, George Ouellette, who used to bring the paper and have coffee and share friendship with her each morning. She loved visiting her cousin, Evelyn Thompson, of Penobscott, ME, who was like a sister to her.

She will join her husband in her final resting place in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, in Bourne. Per her wishes there are no calling hours, a private ceremony will be held by the family after cremation.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, c/o Dr. O'Sullivan, UMass Medical Center, 55 Lake Ave. North, Worcester, 01655 or to the VNA care Hospice, Inc., 120 Thomas St., Worcester, MA 01608.
