Kelly, Erin, Ellen & Shawn, My heart aches for all of you. Laurie was like a sister to me.
As you know, I have known Laurie for a very long time and I have watched each of you grow up to be the incredible people that you are now. Laurie and I have helped each other in good times and in bad however; we had more good times together.

I first met your mother when Richard asked me to meet him and your mother at the Bratskeller after they got off from working at the post office. The moment I met your mother I knew that we would be the best of friends. I am thankful that Richard invited me to join them that evening and even more thankful for the lifelong friendship that began that night.

Your mother would often come over to our house and just sit and talk about the post office with Richard and laugh at things that happened at work. Laurie and I had fun in everything that we did. One time in particular…your mother wanted to take skiing lessons at Gunstock and asked me if I wanted to go with her. I said why not. The day we decided to drive up to Gunstock there was a blizzard. I wanted to stay home but your mom was adventurous and very influential so off we went. I (to this day) still do not know how we didn’t wind up in a ditch. When we finally arrived at Gunstock, we quickly realized that “Gunstock was closed” due to inclement weather. Neither of us said anything, she just turned the car around and we drove back home. Another time your mom wanted to take a drive and just talk. So off we went (on 495). I noticed that the gas tank read empty and mentioned this to Laurie. To put me at ease, you mother said “Oh I have plenty of gas”, as surprisingly we did.

There was never a dull moment when I was with Laurie. Your mother was a kind and loving person and she will be sorely missed. Richard and I love Laurie and she will always be a part of our family.

Sweet Dreams my friend.
