Irene M. Germaine

Irene M. Germaine, 84, of Southbridge, passed away on May 28, 2008 at Lanessa Extended Care in Webster after an illness. Her beloved husband Howard J. Germaine passed away in 1989.

She leaves her daughter, Nancy L. Coderre and her husband Victor of Southbridge; two grandchildren, Lauren V. Coderre & her fiancée Dennis Beaulieu, and Christopher J. Coderre. She leaves one brother, Normand Gibeault and his wife Rollande of Sturbridge; her brother-in-law, Billy Tittle of Dudley; her sister-in-law, Del Germaine of Holland, Ma and many nieces and nephews. Her sister Therese Tittle and her brother Gerard Gibeault predeceased her.

Irene was born in Southbridge, the daughter of the late Henri & Celina Gibeault. She graduated from the former Notre Dame High School and was the secretary for George Wells, the founder of the A.O. She managed the Southbridge Credit Bureau for over 40 years & prided herself in the fact that there was never a complaint about her work. She also operated the Southbridge Collection Agency.

She was a member of the Southbridge Professional Secretaries' Association and the Ladies' Auxiliary of the V.F.W.

She loved her family, gardening, cleaning and dressing with style. Her family would like to thank the staff at Lanessa Extended Care for their wonderful & compassionate care as well as the staff at Christopher Heights in Webster.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00AM, Monday June 2nd in St. Hedwig's Church, Everett St. Southbridge. There are no calling hours and burial will be private.
