Stephany Summers Obituary

Stephany Marie (Nickolas) Summers, of Worcester, 59, passed away on June 5, 2008, after a valiant four year battle against cancer, surrounded by her loving family and friends.

Daughter of the late Paul and Georgiana (Lolo) Nickolas, she is survived by Frank, her husband of 30 years; two daughters, Alexandra Nicole Blankenship and her husband Matt, Wilton, NY, and Sarah Elizabeth Connolly and her husband Greg, Malta, NY; her sister, Gloria Stockwell and her husband Roy, Worcester; nephews Steven Stockwell and his wife Sue, Charlie Stockwell and his wife Sandy, all of Leicester; grandnephews and grandniece Jason, David, Cesar and Katelynn.

She was a graduate of Burncoat Sr. High School and received her BA in Accounting from Suffolk University in Boston. She worked as an Accountant for Mass Electric, United Fruit Company, Itek Corp., Davis Design, and was a Sr. Accountant at Worcester Housing Authority at the time of her death.

Stephany was a devoted, caring, and loving daughter, wife, mother, sister and friend who always had a positive and upbeat approach to life, always thinking of others first, never complaining, and always willing to help in anyway she could. She was practical and down-to-earth, but at the same time spontaneous and fun-loving, always ready for the next adventure. There was no one more dedicated to the happiness of her family and friends, more honest in her feelings and opinions, nor more clear-headed and forgiving in times of adversity than Stephany. Anyone who ever knew her will miss her terribly.

Calling Hours will be held at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln St., Worcester, 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, June 9, 2008, with prayers by Father Dennis Nagi at 6:00 p.m., with a Funeral Mass on Tuesday, June 10, 2008, at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Albanian Orthodox Church, 535 Salisbury St., Worcester, followed by interment at Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, it was Stephany's wish that donations be made to the Our Danny Fund for cancer research at UMass Cancer Center, the Jimmy Fund for cancer research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, or to Saint Mary's Albanian Orthodox Church. Dear Frank and family:
I will truly miss Stephany as we had many great talks and laughs. Her optimism was very inspiring to me and I will never forget her. My prayers are with you all.

It is with great sadness that I am signing this Guest Book. I always remember Stephany with a smile on her face. I don't ever remember her saying anything negative about anyone. It was always fun being with her and I found myself waiting for her Christmas newsletter every year as we didn't see each for years but she was in my thoughts often. I'm sure she will be missed by everyone. Our deepest sympathy to you all. Matt & Diane

I was saddened to read that my former classmate Stephany Nickolas has passed on and my heart goes out to her family.

Stephany and I were among the few female Bus Adm majors at Worcester Jr. College from 1967 to 1969. She was my classmate and my friend.

Although I have not seen her for many years, I can look at her picture and remember fondly the girl I knew.

What you say is so true, anyone who ever knew her will miss her.
