M. Mackie Obituary

M. Julia (McCann) Mackie, 92, of Worcester, died Friday, June 6 at her home surrounded by her family.

She leaves her husband of 73 years, William B. Mackie, a son William B. Mackie Jr. and his wife Mary of Worcester, five grandchildren, Susan E. Mackie, Judith A. Morin, Jonathan T. Mackie, all of Worcester, William C. Mackie of Leicester and David R. Mackie of Bolton, nine great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Her brother James P. McCann and her sister Anna T. Meyers predeceased her.

Mrs. Mackie was born in Fitchburg, daughter of James P. and Anna (Levesque) McCann. She lived in Worcester and later West Boylston for many years before moving to Lake Worth, Florida in 1976. She returned to Worcester in 2004.

She graduated from St. Bernard's High School in Fitchburg. She was a former member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church.

The funeral Mass will be Tuesday, June 10 at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 111 Worcester St., West Boylston. Burial will be in Mount Vernon Cemetery, West Boylston. There are no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the VNA Hospice, 120 Thomas St., Worcester 01608.

The Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester, is directing arrangements.
