To Ray's girls,
I worked with Ray for 11 years at Nortons. He made me laugh with his sarcasm.... He used to think he was tough but we all knew better. ;)
He was a great friend and I am sorry to say I lost touch with him when I left Nortons in 2002. I remember him talking about his girls all the time. He was very proud!! I was so shocked to hear of his passing and so saddened. Such a good guy and too young. You are in my thoughts.

Missy and Tracy,

My deepest sympathy for you and your family. I will never forget the many years of fun I had playing on your dad's softball team. He was my absolute favorite coach! I feel lucky to have run into him at the grocery store about 6 months ago, as I hadn't seen him since we graduated.

He will always be a great childhood memory.

Sincerely,

Claire & Chris Carls

Dear Debbie, Melissa and Tracy
I really don't know what to say. We loved Ray so much. Ray stood by me in so many difficult times. He was like a Dad to Laura and often told me he would take her in a minute. He enjoyed raising the two of you so much that he didn't mind another daughter. He was always so proud of the three of you and you have to know that he is loved by everyone. There is nothing unkind that anyone could ever say about Ray, he was the best their was. My heart hurts for all of you. If you ever just want to talk, please feel free to email me. Remember the memories you all had - no one can take them away from you. The family reunions will always be cherised in our hearts. We love you all.

Missy, I only met your father once but he will always stay in Aaron and my mind. Drinking a pitcher and playing darts and just seeing how you became such a daddy's girl around him. I know you and your family will miss him greatly.

Dear Debbie, Melissa and Tracy,

This is probably one of the saddest days of my life, reading that Ray has passed away. He was such a good friend, he gave me good advice when I was a kid...when I was alone raising my oldest daughter Kristin, he was non judgemental when everyone else was.
He always talked about his girls, he was so proud of you three. He loved you to pieces... he told me stories about you that tickled my funny bone...the peanut butter test story was my favorite....
Ray was a kind man, underneath all that sarcasm. He had a bite to him, but I think it was all for show.
Tommy and I are so sorry for your loss, Debbie. Ray didn't deserve this so young. I always figured he would die an old, old man. He was so feisty! He was also an ethical and moral person, someone to be admired for his personal beliefs.
My heart goes out to all of you, may you find comfort in knowing that there are people outside of your family that love Raymond and will miss him. If I can do anything at all to help you out, please call. Even if all you want to do is talk. Ray was a good guy.
You are in my thoughts and prayers, Tom's too, Tommy loved Ray...

Dear Missy,
So sorry to hear about the passing of your father. I too lost my dad last summer along with my step-mom in a plane accident in Alaska. There are no words I can say to make you feel better or take the pain away. Just know an old friend is thinking of you during this difficult time and my prayers are with you and your family. Take care. Email me if you want to talk!
