Marcia,
I am so sorry for the loss of your Dad. I know how much you loved and cared for him, especially these last few months when he was so ill. From our morning conversations, I know how much a part of your life he was and how greatly he will be missed. Please know that you, and your family, are in my thoughts and prayers.

Dear Family of Russ Harrington,
We sometimes refer to a person as a "gentleman" without the merest thought of ALL that word encompasses. But when I think of Russ Harrington, THAT word is what comes to my mind.
I met Mr. Harrington when I came to his home as an 'unseasoned' hospice volunteer when Michael was ill. Russ was not only kind, patient, gracious, and compassionate with his son, but he was that same gentle-man with me, as well. He had a quiet passion for life and for learning. . .and for helping others.
We kept in touch for years and I was so comforted by his words of understanding when my own son died.
G.K. Chesterton said: "Real development is not leaving things behind, as on a road, but drawing life from them, as from a root." Russell Harrington's 'roots' went deep into the lives of those he loved. As we mourn the absence of his physical presence from our lives, I pray that we will all continue to be nourished by the 'fruit' of his life.
May you be comforted. . .

To the Harrington Family
Our deepest sympathy on the loss of your father. Both he and your mother were instrumental teachers to us at Stafford High School and left us with many special memories. In September 2006 the SHS Class of 1951 celebrated its first class reunion in 55 years and we were honored to have had your father as our special invited guest. The 2006 issue of our Torch yearbook was dedicated to him with the following inscription which we submit in his memory: "In recognition of the help and service he gave to our class and to all the many, many classes at Stafford High School and in deep gratitude for the many things he did to brighten our senior year as our class advisor, we dedicate our 2006 issue of THE TORCH to Russell T. Harrington".

Merritt, Merilis, Mark and Marcia,
Since moving to Florida I haven't seen Uncle Russell in a long time. But he was always in my thoughts and prayers. Every time I spoke with my Dad I would ask him "How's Uncle Russell doing?". Uncle Russell will be truly missed. I am sorry that my family and I will not be able to make it up to MA at this time of need. So, We send our love.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your families now and forever.

I had Mr. Harrington as my business teacher at E.O. Smith High School. He was my favorite teacher during my high school years. I remember him as fair and kind to everyone in his class. I have thought about him at times through the years and was sadden to hear of his passing.
My heart goes out to his family and they are in my thoughts and prayers.

I am so sorry for your loss. Russ was one of the nicest guys I ever met. He was also the most helpful to CSEA Retirees. I am a member of CSEA Chapter 425, and was the recipient of some of his help. He was sorely missed when he retired.
again, I am so sorry.
