Gunnar Otterson Obituary

Gunnar Henry Otterson, 91, of Auburn, died Monday, June 16 at home. His wife of 55 years, Ruth A. (Werme) Otterson died in 2003.

He leaves two sons: Ronald A. Otterson and his wife Patricia of Auburn and Russell A. Otterson, with whom he lived; two daughters: Linell A. Otterson of Worcester and Elaine M. Curley and her husband John of South Yarmouth; a sister, Elvira Kimball; five grandchildren: Eric and Pamela Otterson and John, Jaclyn and Jimmy Curley; several nephews and nieces. A brother, Paul Otterson and a sister, Astrid Crockett predeceased him.

He was born in Worcester, son of Pontus and Julia (Svenson) Otterson and was a Navy Veteran of World War II. Mr. Otterson worked at George Meyer Company for many years. He was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church, the Nordic Lodge and the Scandinavian Athletic Club.

The funeral service and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gunnar's memory to the Massachusetts Veteran's Shelter, 69 Grove Street, Worcester, MA 01605. Arrangements are under the care of LINDQUIST LUNDIN FUNERAL HOME, 36 Butler Street, Worcester, MA 01607.
