Hyalie Hurwitz Obituary

Hyalie (Laipson) Hurwitz, 86 died Monday, June 16th at Westminster at Lake Ridge Nursing Home in Woodbridge, VA. Her husband Louis Hurwitz died in 2000.

She leaves her daughter Susan Levy and her husband Rafy of VA, a brother Myron "Mike" Laipson and his wife Hannah of Worcester, a daughter-in-law Paula Rosen, two grandsons Ben and Daniel Hurwitz and a granddaughter Rebecca Hurwitz. Her son Gordon Hurwitz and her daughter Ann Hurwitz predeceased her.

She was born in Worcester the daughter of Maurice H. and Sarah (Vielya) Laipson. She graduated Classical High School and Simmons College in Boston. Mrs. Hurwitz and her husband settled in Manchester, CT where they lived for many years. She served as Director of a city of Manchester agency for an extended period and in retirement, as a former docent of the Hartford Art Museum and became a class leader for "Woman in Art" in several learning in retirement programs in Connecticut, Cape Cod and Virginia.

The GRAVESIDE funeral service will be held at 11AM TODAY JUNE 19th in B'nai Brith Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Jewish Healthcare Center, 629 Salisbury St., Worcester, MA 01609. Perlman Funeral Home is directing the arrangements.

ed for Hyalie at Rivereast back in the 80's. What a lovely lady she was.
