Mary F. Dolan

Mary F. (Hickey) Dolan, 86, of Worcester, died June 18, 2008 at home surrounded by her family. Her husband, William T. Dolan, Sr. died in 1975.

She was born in Worcester, daughter of Thomas A. and Mary E. (Houlihan) Hickey. She attended Worcester Public Schools, graduating from North High School in 1939. She then attended Regis College in Weston, Massachusetts where she graduated in 1943 with a Bachelor of Science degree.

Mrs. Dolan taught several years at Leicester High School. Later, she returned to work at Hickey's Package Stores, retiring in 1999. She was an active parishioner of Our Lady of the Rosary Parish for 55 years. She also was an active member of the parish's bingo committee. She was an enthusiastic member of the Worcester Regis Club for many years.

She is survived by her son, William T. Dolan, Jr. and his wife Patricia Acampora Dolan of Worcester; her sister, Kathleen Lauler of Old Lyme, Connecticut; two sisters-in-law, Anne Hickey and Bernadette Hickey; both of Worcester, and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Margaret Hickey Moriarty, and two brothers, Thomas A. Hickey, Jr. and Paul F. Hickey.

Calling hours at the Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester, are Sunday, June 22 from 3 to 6 p.m. The funeral will be Monday, June 23, from the funeral home with a Mass at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 25 Fales St., Worcester. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery.
