Edwin Young Obituary
He leaves his wife of 49 years, Nancy O. (Tibbetts) Young; his two children, Dr. E. Russell Young and his wife Nancy of Shrewsbury, and Dana J. Mrozinski and her husband Henry of Thompson, CT; his brother Robert Young and his wife Linda of Fripp Island, SC, and his sister Dorothy Mason and her husband Donald of Grayling, MI; his three grandchildren, E Robert Young, Joseph R. Young, and Kristin E. Young; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was born in Islip, Long Island, NY, the sone of the late Edwin R. and Annie (Ellis) Young and lived in the Worcester area most of his life. A graduate of North High School and the Stockbridge School at UMass, Jud went on to serve his country and the US Army during the Korean War.
Jud then began a long career in the landscape design, and maintenance field. During his working years, he worked as the landscaper for the Norton Company in Worcester for 26 years. He was a member of Saint Michael on the Heights Parish in Worcester, and a former award winning member of the Worcester County Horticulteral Society. Besides his gardening, Jud reveled in watching his grandchildren grow and enjoyed watching their sport events.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Sunday June 22nd from 4-7 PM at the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main St., Shrewsbury. His funeral will be celebrated on Monday June 23rd at 11 AM in Saint Michael's on the Heights Church, 340 Burncoat St., Worcester. Burial with Military Honors will following in Pine Grove Cemetery, Boylston. Flowers may be sent or donations may be made to the Memorial Fund, Saint Michael's on the Heights Church, 340 Burncoat St., Worcester, MA 01606.
