Please accept my my most profound sympathy at Morty's passing. Thinking of him brought me back to my "growing up" days and the department store in Spencer. How I loved to go in there and look around! It was like a mini-Spag's, only Morty knew where each and every thing in the store could be found. If you couldn't find what you were looking for, just ask Morty: he'd find it in an instant. It makes me think of the Girl Scout gear I got there or the sewing patterns and material I bought for school projects. Morty will forever be one of Spencer's "institutions" in our history. You can't think of him without smiling. May he rest in peace.

My condolences to the White family. I have great memories as a kid shopping at Morton's. There was stuff everywhere -- in every nook and cranny -- but Mortie knew just where to find whatever you needed. He was wonderful man. May your memories of him help you through a very diffucult time.
