Rose Faiola Obituary

Rose C. (Sciabarrasi) Faiola, 88, of 35 Mountain Ave. died Friday, June 20, 2008 in The Life Care Center, Leominster.

She was born July 24, 1919 in Boston, the daughter of Luigi and Francesca (Domplo) Sciabarrasi and moved here with her family when she was five. She attended Fitchburg schools and graduated from Elizabeth Ollis Beauty School in 1959. She was a hairdresser for over 40 years in Fitchburg. She was the owner and operated FaBal's Beauty Salon. She held the position of president for the local beauticians' organization for many years. Rose was a communicant of St. Anthony's Parish. She was a member of the Sons of Italy. Her husband, Silverio Faiola, whom she married on April 26, 1946, died on February 15, 1978.

She leaves her son, Anthony R. Faiola and his wife, Kathy, of Fitchburg; two daughters, Clara L. Gorczynski of Sterling and Frances M. Faiola of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; two brothers, John Sciabarrasi of Fitchburg and Samuel Sciabarrasi of Clearwater, FL; three sisters, Mary Szymanski and Leana Rajcula, both of Fitchburg and Jenny Firmani of Leominster; a sister-in-law, Phyllis Sciabarrasi of Leominster; four grandchildren, Caryn Gorczynski of Sterling and Kevin Gorczynski of San Diego, CA and Anthony and his wife, Annie, and Lauren Faiola, all in Fitchburg and a great granddaughter, Olivia Brideau of Sterling. She was predeceased by two brothers, Santo Sciabarrasi, and Anthony Sciabarrasi and a sister, Connie Boucher.

The funeral will be held Tuesday, June 24, 2008 from Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd. with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in St. Anthony di Padua Church, 84 Salem St. Burial is in St. Bernard's Cemetery. Calling hours are Monday from 4-8 p.m. The Sons of Italy will perform their ritual Monday at 5:30 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Anthony's restoration Fund, 2 Beekman St., Fitchburg, MA 01420.

I FIRST MET ROSE WHEN SHE HAD A BOOTH AT LINDA'S AND FOUND THAT WE SHARED THE SAME BIRTHDAY. THEN WHEN SHE WENT TO LIFE CARE WE WOULD VISIT HER WHEN WE WERE VISITING WITH OUR MOM'S AND ROSE ALWAYS HAD A GREAT SMILE. SHE IS AT PEACE NOW.
