Mom,

The pain you felt these last few months has subsided and I am grateful for that. However, the pain you rid yourself of by leaving us now fills every person whose life you touched the last 53 years.

Yes death is a part of life, but that is of no comfort to any of us right now. We all will try to be strong and go on as i'm sure you would like but losing you leaves many of us with a huge empty hole inside us.

The memories you gave us were plentiful. They will comfort us when we feel our lowest.

One thing that was repeated Wednesday night by several people would've made you proud. Several people told us how lucky both John and I were. We had the best mother we could ever ask for. Dad heard the same thing about you as it pertains to him.

You were a success in everything you put your heart into, from your work to being a baseball mom to arts and crafts to your cooking to beating me at triple yahtzee every day before work, yeah I remembered those days Mom.

Now you are in Heaven in the midst of a reunion of epic proportions. I'm sure you've had the joy of meeting up with Gail, having coffee with Mrs. Donahue, stop by the God's bar to see Gram tending bar in Heaven, filling them in on all they've missed in the time they've been gone. The family members that were waiting for you on Uncle Richard's bus, far too many to list. Hopefully you took a bonine before that ride with all the seat jumping you'll be doing. If you get a free moment look down over us and make sure we're still behaving ourselves. OK??

It's time to say goodbye for now. I'm sure we'll chat privately from time to time.

I will miss you and love you forever.

Your son,
Michael

Dear Elaine and Chauvin Family,
I am deeply saddened to hear of Marie's passing. It came as quite a shock. I will always remember her as one of my oldest and dearest friends. So many years of wonderful memories, especially the early years when Marie and John met. Elaine remember all the times we drove them crazy looking for rides and a place to hang out? I will never forget all the good times we all shared. May God Bless all of you and help you find strenghth in the days ahead.

Mr. Chauvin, John and Mike,

I'm so sorry for your loss. My family and I will keep you in our prayers as you learn to live without Marie/Mom. I have many fond memories of my youth and most are about baseball and the kids I played with and their families. Mr. and Mrs. Chauvin were fixtures at our games and I if I listen close enough, even now I can hear her cheering for us and offering words of encouragement. John and Mike you are two lucky guys to have such loving parents that supported you in sports...thanks for sharing them with the rest of our teammates. I'm still away serving in the USAF, currently in North Carolina or else I'd be there to offer my condolences in person. God Bless~ Chris Spring
