Sandra Baxter-Davidson Obituary

Sandra Baxter-Davidson, known to all as Sandi, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 1, 2008, at the UMass Memorial Healthcare-University Campus in Worcester.

Sandi was born in Pearl River, NY on December 11, 1948. She spent most of her adult life in Cornwall, NY and moved to Westhborough in 2007. Sandi was a 1967 graduate of Pearl River High School and later, The Berkeley School in White Plains, NY. She worked as an administrator for the NY State Parks Commission at Bear Mountain, NY until 1975 when she resigned to raise her family. She later became the Director of The Museum of the Hudson Highlands in Cornwall, retiring in 2007 after 20 years of service. For many years she served as the Treasurer of the Cornwall-on-Hudson Presbyterian Church. Sandi also found time to co-own an ambulette service, coach her daughter's baseball team, and become a professional tax preparer. Most recently she was employed as a financial analyst at DFX Logistics in Westborough. In her free time, she enjoyed the arts and was a very talented still life painter.

Sandi leaves her loving husband, Frank Davidson of Westborough; her mother, Dagmar MacNaughton of Coxsackie, NY; her two loving children, Kimberly Ferracane of New York City and Scott Ferracane of Cornwall, NY; her mother-in-law, Ruth Davidson of Westborough, and also, her ever loyal dog, Mickey. She loved her family, ocean waves, wild turkeys, deer in the meadow, rooting for the Yankees and sunflowers. Her death was sudden, leaving no time for sweet words and sad goobyes. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 7th at The Cornwall-on-Hudson Presbyterian Church, 222 Hudson Street, Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY and at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 8th at The Good Shepard Lutheran Church, 183 West Main Street in Westborough with a reception to follow at The Westborough Country Club.

The family is being assisted by The Rand-Harper-Pickering Funeral Home in Westborough. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations, in her name, to the National Humane Society or The Worcester County Food Bank.

To Sandi's family...I worked with Sandi for four years and was blessed to know her. I have one of her beautiful paintings of daisies that she gave me for my birthday. When ever I look at it on my wall, I will remember a very gifted & special lady. Dr. Joyce Conroy, Roscoe
