Michiko Barrett Obituary

Michiko (Masegi) Barrett, 78, of Horn Lake, MS, and former longtime resident of Leominster, MA, passed away Wednesday, July 2, 2008, at the Baptist Memorial Hospital-Desoto, South Haven, MS.

She was born in Tokyo, Japan and a survivor of the bombing of Tokyo during WWII. Michiko was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Rene A. Barrett.

She leaves two sons, George Barrett, his wife Pamela of Center TWP, PA, and Robert Barrett, his wife Mary of Worcester, MA; five daughters, Marie Green, her husband Clyde of Horn Lake, MS, Jean Mayer of Olive Branch, MS, Loretta Barrett of Somersworth, NH, Annette Wagg, her husband Dean of Port Richey, FL, and June Barrett of Ridgefield, CT; 18 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. in the Poliks Funeral Home, 431 Pleasant St., Gardner. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, July 8, 2008 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Graveside services will be held Friday, July 11, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in the Woodside Cemetery, 9 Narrows Rd., Westminster, MA. A reception will follow at the Four Points by Sheraton, 99 Erdman Way, Leominster, MA 01453.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, P.O. Box 650309, Dallas, TX 75265-0309.

Poliks Funeral Home, 431 Pleasant St., Gardner, is directing arrangements.
