Norman Letendre Obituary

Norman F. "Babe" Letendre, 74, of 27 Bixby Rd. died Thursday, July 3 in his home after an illness.

He leaves his wife of 37 years, Okyun "Tina" (Ming) Letendre; a daughter, Mary Ann DeGrand and her husband Kurt of Cleveland, Ohio; a grandson, Cameron DeGrand of Cleveland, Ohio; a brother, Douglas Letendre of Gardner; a sister, Linda M. Mandella and her husband Nicholas of Spencer; and several nieces and nephews. He is pre-deceased by three brothers, Leo O., Edward R. & William G. Letendre.

Mr. Letendre was born in Spencer son of Leo A. and Stella (Tataronis) Letendre. He was an Oil Burner Technician at Bemis & Hobbs oil Co. for 10 years retiring in 1987. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean (3 Tours of Duty) and Vietnam (1 Tour of Duty) Wars and received the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star for his meritorious service.

He was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 138 in Spencer. He was a former member of the Massasoit Golf League. He enjoyed playing baseball and golfing.

The funeral was held Tuesday, July 8 in J. HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer and burial with Military Honors in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Central Mass Chapter for Homeless Veterans, 69 Grove St., Worcester, MA 01605.
