Richard Carlson Obituary

Richard R. Carlson, 53, of 70 Meadow St., died Saturday at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington, MA. Born in Worcester June 9, 1955, he was the son of Rodney Carlson of Bristol, RI and Dorothy (Swydan) Carlson of Sun City Center, FL. He was educated in Worcester schools and received a bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering from WPI in 1983. He later received a Master's Degree from Assumption College in 1988. He was the proprietor and manufacturing consultant of Ensured Commercial Services Inc. He was a member of WPI Alumni Assoc., a member of the Society of Plastic Engineers, the Institute of Industrial Engineers and had a degree in Chemical Coders. He was a 32nd degree member of the Masons, under the Grand East Boston Jurisdiction. He was a car enthusiast and especially enjoyed his 1964 Ford Thunderbird. Besides his parents, Richard is survived by his fiancee Susan Lovett of Florence, his son, Robert Sven of Newton, MA, his 3 daughters, US Army Sgt. Lindsay Carlson Reeves of Ft. Hood, TX, Allison Carlson and Mallory Carlson of Princeton, MA, his 2 brothers, James Carlson of Saugus, MA and Robert Sven of County Cork, Ireland, his sister Catherine Fluemann of Venice, FL and several nieces and nephews. Richard's Funeral will be Wednesday at 12 noon at the Ahearn Funeral Home, 783 Bridge Rd., Northampton. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in Leeds. Visitation will precede the Funeral Wednesday from 11 a.m. - 12 Noon. Memorial Donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.

I often think of the ride you an Sue gave me & Al, I think it was to Uncle Hanky's mass.I remember we laughed from the moment we got into the car till we said see ya later at the end of the day!! I thought of that day more times than i can count an still do. As sad a day as that was - I will continue to smile about our stories we shared an always will!!
