Gerrie Eager Obituary

Gerrie (Foy) Eager, 53, of New Braintree Rd., died Thursday, July 3, 2008 at UMASS Memorial Healthcare in Worcester after a brief illness.

She leaves her husband and best friend of 21 years, Brian X. Eager; her daughter, Danielle Eager of Tampa, FL; her mother, May Foy of West Brookfield; two brothers, Thomas Foy and his wife Kathy of Archdale, NC and Robert Foy and his wife Tara of Ellabell, Georgia; four sisters, AnnMarie Ellis and her husband John of Oxford, Kathy Clifford and her husband Gary of Oxford, Melody Miller and her husband John of Brookfield and Rose St. Peter and her husband Ronald of East Brookfield, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and beloved nephews and nieces. She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Thomas Foy and grew up in Oxford and graduated from Oxford High School.

Gerrie proudly served the United States Postal Service for 26 years, most recently as the Postmaster in West Brookfield Massachusetts. She previously served as Postmaster in both Sturbridge and Templeton. Gerrie will be truly missed by all whose lives she touched and will no doubt live on forever in their hearts.

Funeral Services for Gerrie will be held privately at the convenience of her family. There are no calling hours. Family and friends are invited to share memories of Gerrie and celebrate her life on Thursday, July 10, 2008 from 3 PM to 5 PM at the Salem Cross Inn, Route 9 in West Brookfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701. Varnum Funeral Home, Inc., 43 East Main St., West Brookfield is directing arrangements.
