Henry Kolakowski Obituary

Henry J. Kolakowski, 94, of Worcester, died suddenly on July 6 surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Worcester, a Classical High School graduate, he was the son of the late Amelia and Victor Kolakowski. He leaves his loving wife Mary of 68 years. He also leaves a son, Joseph H. Kolakowski and his wife, Patricia A. of Somerset; two daughters, Carole J. Foley and her husband, Daniel J. of Worcester and Irene Berube and her husband, Phillip of Sutton; seven grandchildren, Neil Kolakowski, Jay Kolakowski, Susan Haddad, Karen Foley, Caroline Foley, Daniel Foley III, and Melissa Berube, six great-grandchildren, Jessica Foley, Dakota Haddad, Ciara Haddad, Ethan Haddad, Josephine Foley and Niamh Foley; two sisters, Sr. Mary Dulcisima, CSFN, of Monroe, Ct., and Rachael Michniewicz of Ann Arbor, MI.

Henry was a devoted patron of Our Lady of Czestochowa parish, serving as custodian for 35 years. He then worked in the same capacity for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. He was a longtime lector for Our Lady of Czestochowa parish and was an avid St. Mary's Booster Club member for many years and received its Diamond Pin award. He was also a member and local treasurer for the Polish Roman Catholic Union. Henry loved to spend time with his family, tending his garden, rooting for the Red Sox and playing cards in Auburn, Rutland, Millbury and Grafton.

The funeral will be held on Thursday July 10, from HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St, with a Mass at 11:00 am in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward St. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Thursday July 10 from 9:00 to 10:30 am in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Czestohowa Church Memorial Fund, 34 Ward St, Worcester, Ma., 01610.

Joe- sorry to see you dad passed away-I recently lost my mom-now both parents are gone. I fgondly remember your dad at school, driving us fishing and even opening the gym (wow).
