“The Hole in the Gym Wall”
~By Eric Lepage~
The Hilltopper - June 1999

To who it may concern,
Well, you see, according to
me: It was fifteen of four and my
Arms were sore as I went out to the
gym. But to my surprise I did not
spy anyone but him.

He was tall, with a misshape head
(bowling balls for eyes)

I could not understand why he has
just standing there, though I
thought a thousand tried.

I pulled up my scoks
TiCk-ToCk-TiCk-ToCk. He was
looking at me. So I raised my voice
Loud ( and I said to the ground)
“Hey, stop looking at me!”

As I looked uo all I could see, two
bowling ball eyes three feet from
me!

I could not talk as my body went
numb, Who was this man and from
where did he come?

These are questions for both the
Young and the old. Did that freak of
nature make that mighty hole?

Eric was a wonderful and original soul.
He will be missed

~Thea~

I will never forgot Eric's magnetic personality, always sticking up for the underdog no matter how against the grain it may have been. There was never a dull moment hanging out with Eric. My condolences go out to his family, especially his brother Mike, I know how close they were and how much he will be missed by everyone.

To Charlotte, Joe, Mike and Spence,
Our most heartfelt sympathy to all of you. Eric was one of a kind. I will never forget how he would come to our yard sales when he was a little fellow of about 5 or 6, and ALWAYS very intently and lovingly buy something for his "Mom". We know words cannot remove the pain you are feeling now, but hopefully knowing how very much people care will make it a little easier.
Our sincere condolences,
Steve and Nancy Benoit

There are no words on Earth which can describe what an awful loss to this world Eric's untimely passing is. He was a compassionate, generous and loving person. We must all stay strong in knowing Eric will walk with us through this time. He will watch over Ben as he always did and continue to make this world a better place from above. All of my love Eric you are already so missed.

I was a classmate of Eric's and, for a brief time, a neighbor. He will be greatly missed. I (and I'm sure many of our other classmates) will always remember Eric's prank of falling down the stairs at our 8th grade graduation. I know we all waited in anticipation as he crossed the stage to see if he would really do it. My thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Eric was one of my earliest friends in elementary school. I remember going to his house when we were kids and playing whatever crazy game Eric could come up with. I'll always remember him as one of the kindest and most unique individuals I knew. He could always make you laugh and enjoyed doing it. He'll certainly be missed...
