Dorothy B. Jankauskas Majka

Dorothy B. (Nicholson) Jankauskas, Majka, 80, passed away peacefully Saturday, July 12, 2008 in Baldwinville Nursing Home, surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Walter J. Majka. She leaves two sons, Thomas F. Jankauskas and wife Kathleen of Phillipston, and Richard P. Jankauskas and partner Kathleen Howard of Barre; five daughters, Catherine A. Ericson, Janet A. Gallery, Kimberly A. Salvadore and husband Robert, all of Barre, Nancy Collett and husband Thomas of Hardwick and Elizabeth A. Aiken of Rutland. She also leaves two brothers, Charles Nicholson and George Nicholson, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Edward A. Jankauskas, Jr and two brothers, Leo and Milo Nicholson. Dorothy was born in Starksboro, Vermont, daughter of Joseph and Irene (Alger) Nicholson. She lived in Vermont until she moved to Barre many, many years ago. Dotty loved and enjoyed all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren very, much. She also enjoyed knitting, gardening and her beloved pets. She worked many years at the former Rutland Heights Hospital in Rutland, MA. The funeral will be held on Wednesday, July 16th from the Pillsbury Funeral Home, 96 South Barre Road, Barre, with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in St Thomas-a-Becket Church, Vernon Ave., South Barre. Calling hours will be on Tuesday, July 15th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
