Mr. Gay was a true asset to the town of West Brookfield. Among other things, he pointed out to me that the weather vane atop the Town Hall was not properly aligned, and he made sure that when the cupola was repaired we placed the vane so that "north" pointed to true north! When my wife and I visited his home he showed us the beautiful Nantucket baskets and woodshop products he made, and gave her a replica schoolhouse desk when he found out that she was a teacher. He was a great guy, and will be missed.

Mr. Gay was an inspiration.His enterprising ways gave him a special identity in the Brookfields & Spencer.He was a devoted husband and family man andfather.He was my friend and I will miss him.
