Doris Moore Obituary

Doris V. (Vayo) Moore, 88, of Millbury, died on Tuesday, July 15, 2008, in the Life Care Center of Auburn, after a long illness.

Her husband of 59 years, Harry A. Moore, died in 1988. She leaves two sons: Kenneth D. Moore of Sutton and Robert H. Moore of Millbury; 5 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; a brother, Roger F. Vayo of Sutton; nephews and nieces. She was born in Millbury on November 4, 1919, daughter of the late Arthur and Venetta (Adams) Vayo, and was a lifelong resident of the town. She graduated from Millbury Memorial High School in 1938.

Mrs. Moore worked for 25 years as an assembler at the Telechron Division of General Electric, first in Worcester and then in Ashland before she retired in 1981. She was a member of St. Brigid Catholic Parish and she particularly enjoyed raising flowers in her garden.

Her funeral service will be held at 8 PM on Friday, July 18, in Turgeon Funeral Home, 56 Main St. After cremation, she will be buried with her beloved husband in Central Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Friday evening from 6 to 8 PM. Please omit flowers. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Assn., Mass. Chapter, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472.

Arnold & Mary Vayo and family from Australia share the loss of Doris Vayo Moore.I,Arnold,remember her and her family mostly through Alice who loved all of you so very much indeed.May we all meet again someday. Our love to you all,especially the grand/great grandchildren. I was so young,born in 1937 that I missed all fun.
