Frances Hoey Obituary

Frances (Murphy) Hoey, 78, of Sheridan Dr. passed away Thurs., July 24 at home.

She leaves a sister, Joanne and her husband John Tierney of Worcester; niece, Susan Williams; a nephew, Frederick Reilly; a grand niece, Reilly Williams and four grand nephews, Fred, Matt and James Reilly and Jack Williams. Two brothers, Paul Murphy and Richard Murphy, predeceased her. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Francis E. and Martha M. (Linton) Murphy and graduated from St. Peter's High School and Boston University and received a master's degree from Assumption College.

Frances was a manager for 40 years for the New England Telephone Co. She was a long time member and Eucharistic Minister of St. Anne's Church, a member of the Tower Hill Historical Society, the Worcester Art Museum, Pioneers of America, and All Com Credit Union. She was a past president of the Worcester Woman's Club, a Docent for Preservation Worcester and also did volunteer work for many organizations, including the Seven Hills Foundation and the Worcester Ecotarium.

Her Funeral will be held Mon., July 28, from CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle St., Worcester with a Mass at 11 AM in St. Anne's Church, 130 Boston Turnpike. Burial will be private in St. John's Cemetery, Lancaster. Visiting Hours are Sun., July 27 from 3 to 6 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to ALS, Mass. Chapter, 75 McNeil Way, Suite 310, Dedham, 02026 or to the Seven Hills Foundation, 81 Hope Ave., Worcester, 01603.

To Fran's Family,
Fran was the most thoughtful and considerate person I ever dealt with at Verizon. Her kindness kept me a frequent rehire at the company.
Please God welcome her in your kingdom. May she rest in peace.

I worked at All Com Credit Union and
always enjoyed when Frances would come in for the monthly Board of
Directors meetings. Frances was a warm, kind fun loving business woman, she will be deeply missed.
Rest in peace my friend!
