David Aldrich Obituary

David Hall Aldrich, 67 of Mineral, WA and formerly of Southborough, died May 19, 2008 after a long illness.

He was the son of Evelyn H. Aldrich Merrill of Chesterfield, NH and the late David W. Aldrich.

Mr. Aldrich attended the former Peters High School in Southborough, He was a US Navy veteran where he was a plank holder and fire control technician missile man on the USS Long Beach, and the USS Bainbridge, the world's first nuclear-powered frigate in which he circumnavigated the globe during Operation Sea Orbit in 1964.

In addition to his mother, he leaves his daughters, Katherine Burns & her husband, William J., Jr. of Fairhill MD; Margaret Clifton & her husband, Steve of Terra Alta, WV; two brothers, Charles Aldrich of Lowell; Richard Aldrich of Chesterfield, NH; 2 sisters, Elizabeth Demers of Tacoma ,WA; Barbara Clews of Middletown, NY; 5 grandchildren Elizabeth, John IV, Nathan , Jacob, and Tyler Stapleford; a great-granddaughter Taylor Stapleford; and numerous nieces & nephews.

He was predeceased by his sister Judith Aldrich.

Funeral services are private with burial at the Rural Cemetery in Southborough.

My deepest sympathy to the Aldrich Family. Dave and I were classmates and good friends from 7th grade at Peters High School and many years later. I wish I could have seen him before he passed away.
