Loretta Doherty Obituary

Loretta M. (Thibeault) Doherty, 79, formerly of 8 Lakeside Drive,died peacefully, Friday, July 25, 2008 after a long illness. Her husband of 51 years, Joseph P. Doherty died in 2001. She was also predeceased by an infant son, James Patrick in 1962. She leaves a son, Joseph P. Doherty, Jr., and his wife Jennifer of Dudley and four daughters, Judith Doherty of Worcester, Colleen Doherty of Jamaica Plain, Maryellen Doherty and her husband Edward Sikonski of Holden and Virginia Pappas and her husband Charles of Dudley. She leaves four brothers, Lorenzo Thibeault of Mississippi, Lionel Thibeault of Brookfield, Donald Thibeault of Baldwinville, Raymond Thibeault of North Brookfield, and a sister, Linda Ledoux of Lancaster. She also leaves eight grandchildren, Andrew, Joanna, Alex,and Gillian Pappas, Michael and Ellen Sikonski, and Allison and Hannah Doherty. Loretta was born in North Brookfield, the daughter of Amedee and Gertrude (Lemieux) Thibeault. She graduated from North Brookfield High School and St.Vincent School of Nursing. She worked in several area hospitals as an R.N., retiring from Hubbard Regional Hospital in Webster. Loretta enjoyed gardening, traveling, family,and most of all she enjoyed her grandchildren. The family would like to express their thanks to the staff at Blaire House of Worcester for their excellent care and compassion. At Loretta's request, there are no calling hours. The funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, July 29,2008 at 10:00 A.M. at St.Anthony of Padua Church, 24 Dudley Hill Rd. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Residents' Activity Fund, Blaire House,116 Houghton Street, Worcester, MA. 01604. The Robert J. Miller Funeral Home and Lake Chapel, 366 School St., Webster is assisting Loretta's family with funeral arrangements.

Ginny and family, please accept my heartfelt condolences at the loss of your mother. I enjoyed many Sat. mornings when she would shop at the store and chat with me. She always had a smile and kind words to share. She was a very lovely lady and will be missed by many. Call me if you need to chat.
