William Goguen Obituary

William John Goguen, 48, of Northborough, died Monday, July 28th in the UMass Memorial Hospital, Worcester. He leaves his wife of 11 years, Judy Ann (Richinick) Goguen; his son, Jason William Goguen at home; his brother, Gary M. Goguen of Southborough; his two sisters: Jane E. Baronas of Boston and Pamela J. Goguen of Falmouth; many aunts, uncles, nieces and a nephew. He was born and raised in Fitchburg, a son of the late William F. and Martha J. (Daly) Goguen. He graduated from Fitchburg High School, Class of 1977, and Assumption College, Class of 1981 with a degree in Economics. Mr. Goguen worked for the former Chess King Company, Worcester from 1981 to 1992, where he held several positions in retail store management, later moving up to supervisor of the merchandise control department before being promoted to Accounts Payable supervisor in the Worcester corporate office. In 1992, Bill joined the New England Electric System based in Westborough, as a supervisor of Accounts Payable. He became Coordinator of Regulatory Services in New England in 2002 following the merger with National Grid.

Bill enjoyed playing sports, specifically softball and baseball, especially while coaching his son Jason's T-Ball team. He also enjoyed tennis, golf and skiing. The most important thing was always enjoying family time, especially with his wife and son.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Bill's family on Wednesday, July 30th from 4-8 PM in Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main St., Shrewsbury. His funeral will be held on Thursday, July 31st with a Mass celebrated at 10 AM in Saint Rose of Lima Church, 244 West Main St., Northborough. Burial will follow in Howard Street Cemetery, Northborough. The family requests that in lieu of sending flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Jason W. Goguen Educational Fund, c/o Central One Federal Credit Union, P.O. Box 280, Shrewsbury, MA 01545.

I went to Assumption with Bill. We were on Campus Security together. Bill was a great guy. Not just someone you say that about when they pass, he was always there for you and was always someone you could trust and enjoy their company. He will be missed by all who ever met him and especially those who knew him well.
