Richard Miller Obituary

Richard D. Miller, 83, formerly of Avery Heights Road, Holden, and most recently of Chadwick St., Worcester, died Sunday, July 27, 2008 in the University Commons Nursing Home, Worcester, after an illness.

He leaves his son, Michael J. Miller of Waltham; his daughter, Heidi M. Davis of Livonia, NY; and four grandchildren. Two sisters, Mildred Dickson and Beatrice Higgins, predeceased him. He was born in Fitchburg, son of Frederick A. and Nina (Ashley) Miller. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II serving in the Asiatic Pacific Theatre aboard the USS Shilelamy and USS Hope. He was a bus driver for Brush Hill Transportation Co. in Randolph and was a member of the Nehoiden Lodge of Masons in Needham.

Funeral services are private. Donations may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, 51 Blossom St., Boston, MA 02114-2699. Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden, is directing arrangements.
