Robert Carter Obituary

Robert W. Carter, 84, of Orlando Florida, passed away on July 14 at his home.

Robert moved to Orlando in 1981 from Auburn, MA. His wife of 57 years, Gloria Carter, died in 2002. He is survived by a son, Robert J. Carter and wife Connie Carter of Orlando, Fl.; a daughter, Denise Allaire and husband Dennis Allaire, of Fort Myers, Fl.; a sister, Vivian Carter of Auburn; a brother, Arthur Carter of Auburn; sister, Arlene Crowe of Worcester; four grandchildren: Nicole Allaire, Holly Allaire, Craig Carter, Wayne Carter; and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Clement Carter. Robert served in WWII in the 67th Signal Battalion of the United States Army. He owned Carter's Golf Driving Range of Auburn. He retired from the New England Telephone Company in 1981 after 37 years of service. Robert was a devoted husband, loving father, who adored his family. He will be greatly missed.

Relatives and friends may visit Robert's family on Saturday, Aug 2, from 11:00 AM- 12:00PM at the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central St. Auburn. A Funeral Service will follow at 12:15PM in the funeral home. Burial will be private. As children my brother Mark and I used to know the Carter kids and Mr. Carter. I always thought he was such a handsome man and nice to us. I recognized his photo instantly . Arlene I worked with you at Paul Revere all that time and never knew he was your brother.Small world. I am sorry to see that he has passed.
