Eleanor Flygare Obituary

Eleanor Flygare, 85, of Davie, FL passed away April 17, 2008. She was born in Lithuania, grew up in Worcester graduating from Commerce High School, and later resided in Holden for 57 years before moving to Florida. Eleanor was predeceased by her parents Stanley and Isabel (Kirminas) Mancevice, her husband of 55 years, Carl G. Flygare, Jr., brothers Veto Mancevice and Stanley Mancevice, and sister Ruth Cooperstein.

She is survived by a sister, Eldona Ambrose; daughters, Kirsten Alvarez of Davie, FL, and Karen Flygare of East Longmeadow, MA; son, Carl G, Flygare, III of Lake Charles, LA; three grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Eleanor was a draftsperson at the former Norton Co. in Worcester before becoming a full time homemaker enjoying cooking, sewing, gardening and bargain hunting. She started skiing at age 70 and enjoyed her friends and the activities at the Holden Senior Center prior to moving to Florida. A service to celebrate her life will be held Saturday August 2nd at the First Congregational Church of Holden at 10 a.m.
