Grace Osterhout Obituary

Grace Bolinske Osterhout, died July 29, 2008 at Shrewsbury Nursing & Rehab Center, Shrewsbury, MA. Her husband of 41 years, Novice B. Osterhout, died in 1971.

She is survived by three children, Robert Osterhout and his wife Marillyn of Cross Hill, SC, Janet Dearden and her husband Kenneth of Shrewsbury, MA and Raymond Osterhout and his wife Donna of Delmar, NY; eight grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. Five siblings, including Emil Bolinske and Tillie Chrysler predeceased her.

She was born in Rensselaer, NY and was a graduate of Albany High School. Mrs. Osterhout assisted her late husband with operating their R.H.Miller Paint Company business for many years. She was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Albany, N.Y. until moving to Shrewsbury, MA in 1984 to reside with her daughter and son-in-law. She then became a member of Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church in Shrewsbury until her death. She was also active in the Delmar Senior Citizens and the Bethlehem Home Bureau for many years.

The family wishes to publicly thank the staff at Shrewsbury Nursing & Rehab for the devoted care given Grace during her 6 year stay. Also appreciated is the sincere effort received from Hospice. Mrs. Osterhout was an inspiration to all who knew her throughout her 105 years. She was a devoted, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and greatgrandmother and was revered by all.

Funeral services will be held Saturday August 2nd at 12:30 p.m in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Avenue, Albany, NY. Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the funeral home on Saturday between 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Interment at St. Matthew Lutheran Cemetery, Glenmont, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Grace's favorite charity, ELCA World Hunger Appeal, P.O. Box 71764, Chicago, IL 60694-1764
