Frank V. King, Sr., 91, of Marlborough, died August 2, 2008, at Marlborough Hills Healthcare Center.
Born in Northfield, Nova Scotia, he was the son of the late George and Susan (Wilde) King, and the husband of the late Marjorie (Emery) King, who died in 1997.
Mr. King was employed as a mail carrier for the US Postal Service for many years before retiring in 1978.
A veteran of WWII, he served in the US Army, and was held as a POW for 19 months. He was a member of the DAV, Marlborough, serving as past Commander, the Elks Lodge, BPOE 959, Hudson, and the VFW, Colleary Post 638, Marlborough.
He is survived by his sons, Frank V. King, Jr. of Marlborough, and Richard King and his wife Mary-Lee F., of Hudson; his brother, Rex King and his wife Pauline of Montreal, Canada, and his grandchildren, Logan, Bethany and Travers King.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, August 5, 2008 from 5-8 p.m. in the Slattery Funeral Home, Inc., 40 Pleasant St., Marlborough.
