Virginia Petrone Obituary

Virginia M. "Gin" Petrone, 94, formerly of Seabury Heights, died peacefully Tuesday, August 5, 2008, in the Autumn Village, surrounded by her loving family.

Virginia leaves several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews along with their families, whom she was like a mother to. Among them is her niece, Patricia Webber who was her care giver for the past 5 years, along with her son, Michael Greene, who was always there for her. Virginia is also survived by a sister-in-law, Elizabeth (DiPilato) Petrone of Coral Springs Florida. She was predeceased by three brothers, Felix, Pasquale and George Petrone, and four sisters, Grace Bucciaglia, Angelina Malone, Josephine and Madalena Petrone.

Virginia was born in Worcester, daughter of Vito and Giovannina (Amorosi) Petrone and lived here all her life. She worked for the former Grovner Shoe Company and also the Handi Pad Company for many years before she retired. Virginia was a lifetime member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel-St Ann Church. Virginia did beautiful work knitting for all her family members throughout the years, before her eyesight failed. She also enjoyed card playing, bingo and pokeno which the activities staff at Autumn Village made most enjoyable. Her family is most appreciative of the care she received these past 5 years from the staff of Autumn Village especially Unit 1.
