Normand A. Auger Sr.

Normand A. Auger, Sr., 86, of Treasure Island Rd, died Wednesday, August 06, 2008. He was the loving husband of Victoria (Kunigonis) Auger. Born in Webster, MA, he was the son of the late Joseph and Alexina (Bombardier) Auger.

Mr. Auger worked as a baker and a bread salesman for Nissan Bread. He also worked for Auger Bakery.

Mr. Auger was a World War II Army Veteran where he served during the Battle of the Bulge. He played in the St. Mary School Band. He loved baseball and was an avid Yankees fan. He played baseball for the Putnam Hawks and served as president of Putnam Little League.

In addition to his wife, Normand is survived by his daughter, Paulette Jensen and her husband David of Brooklyn CT; his sons, Normand Auger Jr. and his wife Jo-Ann Dumas of Putnam CT, and Robert Auger and his wife Lynn of Thompson CT; his sister, Jeannette Auger of Danielson CT; 4 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a grandson, Jeffrey Toutant, 7 half brothers and 7 half sisters.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Normand's family from 10:00 to 10:30 a.m, Saturday, August 9, 2008 in the Gilman Funeral Home, 104 Church St., Putnam, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m in St. Mary Church of the Visitation, 218 Providence St., Putnam. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.
