Petrina A. Zoto

Petrina A. (Lambi) Zoto, 88, died Thursday, August 7th, in her home surrounded by her family, after an illness.

Her husband, Adam A. Zoto, died in 1968. She leaves two sons, Dr. George A. Zoto and his wife, Saundra of West Barnstable and Steve A. Zoto and his wife Janice of Sturbridge; a daughter, Violet A. Southard and her husband Robert of Southbridge; a daughter-in-law, Margaret Zoto of Littleton; a sister, Pauline Timko of Korca, Albania; 8 grandchildren, Michelle Zoto, Leigh Ann Zoto, Belinda Gibson, Matthew Zoto, Jessica Southard, Dr. Robert Southard, Sarah-Beth Zoto and Nicole Zoto; four great grandchildren, Samantha Gibson, Adam Gibson, Cameron Zoto, and Goran Perley; and several nieces and nephews. Her son, Nicholas A. Zoto, died in 2003. She was also predeceased by a brother, Miti Lambi. She was born in Kamenica, Albania, the daughter of Vasil and Efthimia (Kosta) Lambi.

Petrina worked at the American Optical Co. in Southbridge for over 25 years before retiring in 1983. She was very creative in crocheting and knitting and loved working around her house and church. She was well known for her famous apple pies and lacord. Her church was very important to her. She was an active member of St. Nicholas Albanian Orthodox Church and its daughters of St. Nicholas. She held many office positions that required tremendous dedication and love, thus being awarded and honored with the Albanian Archdiocese Service Award. Petrina gave the same love and dedication to her family and dear friends. She will be forever remembered for her loving heart, generosity and grateful attitude towards others.

Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 12th, from the Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St., Southbridge, with a service at 11:00 a.m. in St. Nicholas Albanian Orthodox Church, Morris St., Southbridge. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Southbridge. Calling hours in the funeral home will be held on Monday, August 11th, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Nicholas Albanian Orthodox Church, P.O.
