While in Auburn, she was a member of the Auburn Women's Club and the Auburn PTA. Along with her husband, Mrs. Holbrook enjoyed their regular golf outings.

Dear Randy and Jack I had been trying to get in touch with your mother for weeks and then I heard she had passed away. I am so sorry. She was so special to me. She was so good to me all the years we worked at Dr. Thrope's office together. She was the kindest person I have ever known, and I am so sorry that I did not get to see her. Love Elaine Crompton
