Anne Frieswick

Anne (Baker) Frieswick, 84, of Sutton St., passed away Sunday Aug. 10, 2008 at home. She was the wife of Chester O. Frieswick.

She was born Aug. 19, 1923 in Whitinsville the daughter of the late Richard and Jennie (VanderBrug) Baker and was her graduating class Valedictorian at Sutton High School. She was also a graduate of the Salter Business School.

A resident of Northbridge for over 60 years, she was a legal secretary with the law firm Bowditch and Dewey in Worcester. Previously, she worked as an executive secretary at the former Whitin Machine Works. She was a charter member of the Fairlawn Christian Reformed Church, Whitinsville and served as the church librarian for over 30 years. She enjoyed word games, crossword puzzles, reading, and flower gardening. Mr. and Mrs. Frieswick had observed their 57th wedding anniversary Sept. 21, 2007.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons Steve and his wife Sandy Frieswick of Toronto, Ontario, and Mark Frieswick of Wrentham; two daughters Laurel Frieswick of Northbridge and Karen and her husband Greg Hastings of Shrewsbury; 5 grandchildren including Daniel Frieswick, Rachel-Ann Frieswick, Peter Frieswick, Bethany Frieswick, and Zachary Hastings; and nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by a sister Grace Baker and 3 brothers Sid Baker, Bill Baker, and Ed Baker.

Funeral services will Wed. Aug. 13, 2008 at 10 AM in Fairlawn Christian Reformed Church, 305 Goldthwaite Rd., Whitinsville. Burial will follow in Riverdale Cemetery, Northbridge.

Visiting hours will be Tues. Aug. 12, 2008 from 5 – 7 PM in the BUMA FUNERAL HOME, 480 Church St., Whitinsville, MA 01588.
