Cecil Salls Obituary

Cecil R. Salls, 66, of 317 Randall Rd., Berlin, died Friday Aug 8, 2008 in St. Vincent Hospital, Worcester of cancer. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Eloise (Eldridge) Salls; four children: Timothy G. Salls and his wife Amy of Framingham, MA, Gregory D. Salls and his wife Manda of Belmont, MA, Brandi E. Salls, Emily M. Salls; four grandchildren: Kaylee, Andrew, Talia, Sabrina; and six brothers and three sisters: Gene Salls of St. Petersburg, FL; Bonnie Davis of Unity, NH; Keith Salls of Louisville, KY; Vaughn Salls of Corinth, VT; Darryl Salls of Lebanon, NH; Melody Marsh of Lebanon, NH; Blendon Salls of Clermont, NH; Kaye Allen of Lebanon, NH; and Terrance Salls of Hardwick, VT, and many nieces and nephews. Cecil, son of Archibald and Dorothy (Dwyer) Salls, was born in Kirby, VT on December 19, 1941. He graduated from Lebanon High School in 1959. Bentley College is where he earned his Associates Degree then Cecil enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1963, served in the Philippines and Thailand, and was honorably discharged as an Airman First Class in 1967. Finishing his B.S. degree in accounting from Bentley College in 1976, he worked as a computer systems analyst at Honeywell for 20 years and then subsequently as Accountant and Office Manager for Leahy Trucking Company for 20 years. Cecil also coached T-ball, Little League and soccer in Berlin and was active in Berlin Boy Scout Troop 1 during the 1980s. He loved having family and friends around and enjoyed crossword puzzles, a NASCAR enthusiasts and his maroon MG Midget. A memorial to celebrate Cecil's life is planned for August 15, 2008 at the Town Hall, 12 Woodward Avenue, Berlin, MA at 11 am. Memorial Donations may be made to the Boy Scout Troop 1 Berlin camping scholarship fund, mail to Wes Durant, 247 Highland St., Berlin MA 01503 or a charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements under the direction of: Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. Hudson, MA.
