Dorothy Eklund Obituary

Dorothy M. (Jamieson) Eklund, 76, of Leicester St., died Monday August 11th in her home, after an illness.

Her husband of 52 years, Carl T. Eklund died on June 18th.

She leaves her two sons, Donald C. Eklund of Wellesley and Jon T. Eklund of Auburn; her sister, Alice K. Carlson of Auburn; a granddaughter, Niki Eklund. She was predeceased by her brother Robert G. Jamieson, Jr. and her sister, Barbara Ann Jamieson. She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Robert G. and Marie (Nichols) Jamieson and has lived in Auburn for most of her life.

Dorothy was the manager of the former Auburn Tie Shop at the Auburn Mall for 20 years until its closing. She later worked for Wal-Mart in Oxford for 10 years. She was a 70 year member of the First Congregational Church of Auburn, where she was active with the young members of the congregation.

Dorothy and her family extend their sincere appreciation to Deb Pranitis, Parish Nurse, and to the nurses and aides with UMass Memorial Hospice Program for their loving care and support.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Dorothy's family on Friday August 15th from 10-11 AM in the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central St., Auburn. A funeral service will then be held at 11 AM in the funeral home, followed by burial in Hillside Cemetery, Auburn.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Congregational Church of Auburn Renovation Fund, 128 Central St. Auburn, MA 01501. For directions or to leave a message of sympathy for the family, please visit
