Antonetta Cavello Obituary

Antonetta H. "Donne" Covello, 85, formerly of Orient St., died peacefully, Friday, August 15, 2008, in the Odd Fellows Nursing Home.

Antonetta is survived by her brother, James Covello and his wife Florence of Worcester; one sister, Rose Morocco of Worcester, and many nephews and nieces and great nephews and nieces, among them are Nancy Lemerise, who was her principle caregiver and Gene Genese, her legal guardian. Other immediate family members include Robert Covello of California, Thomas Huard of Connecticut, James Covello of Shrewsbury, Francis Genese, Ed Morocco, James Morocco, John Morocco and Carol Morocco all of Worcerster. Antonetta was predeceased by two brothers, Henry Covello of Worcester and Joseph Covello of California; two sisters, Anna Rose Genese and Mary Huard; a nephew, Michael Covello and a niece, Diane Garcia.

Antonetta was born in Worcester, daughter of Angelo and Nunziata (Straface) Covello and lived here all her life. She was a graduate of Commerce High School, and worked as a seamstress for many years at the former Steven's Sportswear Company. Antonetta was a long time member of Our Lady of Loreto Church. She was an avid bowler and tennis player, and she was skilled in knitting and crochet. She enjoyed being with her family and will be missed dearly by her family and friends.

Antonetta's funeral will be held Wednesday, from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., with a Mass of Christian burial at 11:00AM in Our Lady of Loreto Church, 33 Massasoit Rd. A calling hour will be held from 9AM to 10:30AM on Wednesday morning only. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Make A Wish Foundation, One Bullfinch Place, 2nd Floor, Boston, MA 02114.
