Dear Patty,
I went to visit Jessica today at her beautiful stone and bench. As I began to say hello for the kids, I was preoccupied by the eclectic assortment of flowers and mementoes left by her beloved family and devoted friends. Of course I read some of the many birthday cards and thought about Jessica as a child watching Jurassic Park at the drive-in with Patrick. I remember her speaking to him in her enchanting- soft voice”those monsters are not living now… but if they were I would chase them away for you”. And she probably would have done that for Pat, that was the type of “big sister” she was to him. Jessica has left us with many wonderful memories of her kindness and antics in the neighborhood and park.
Bless you and your family,
The Coonan Family

Mr and Mrs Jackman
I never knew Jessica when she was alive, but I know her well now. I pass by her resting place while I walk in the cemetery each day. I quite often see her friends stopping by to leave flowers, or little pieces of themselves to keep her company. I have probably seen you also. It always tears me up when I pass her stone, filled with all the mementos left by the many, many friends and loved ones who still grieve her loss. Obviously, she continues to shine and impress people even in death. My heart aches for your loss.

Jessica, not a minute goes by that I am not thinking about you. You are my baby girl and I miss you more than words can express. I know you are angel in heaven and are with all of us. The house is so quiet without you, we miss your laugh and your great stories. Your brothers truly miss you, but they remember the great times you had and shared over 22 years. Nick is so glad we had the chance to go to Aruba something he will never forget. Kenny remembers your super laugh and all the crabs and little lobsters you used to catch in Maine. Simba is pretty sad without you but Nicks new puppy keeps her busy. I wish with all my heart I could turn back time and change all this. I miss you Jessie and I love you incredibly. Mom

I work in a nursing home with elderly people and death is not uncommon in my field- it is sad when some one passes, but when it is some one so young it is really hard for any one to understand. My cousin died just last week; she was only 21 years old. It has left me and the family with such sadness. We’ve been getting through day by day by remembering how she would have wanted to see us smile and laugh and we cherish all the good times with her in our hearts.
Jess was a fellow classmate, and I did not know her well – I remember her always smiling, being very popular and kind to others. Also, I remember her being beautiful, inside and out! I just found out about her death and wanted to offer my condolences to her family and her friends. To any one who happens to read this, stay strong and follow by the example you think Jess may wanted for you. In the obituary she sounded like she had a lot of success in her short years! The family must be so proud of her!
I wish I could think of some thing to write that would offer more comfort to every one who knew her, all I can say is love and support from friends and family heals all wounds!

Kenny, Patty, Kenny Jr. and Nick,
I am so sorry for the tragic loss of Jess. I remember her as a child and young adult who always greeted my mom and I with a sweet smile. She was also quite the tomboy, as all of us neighborhood girls were! We were always trying to keep up with the neighborhood boys and proving we were just as tough as they were! I know that this must be a difficult time for all of you. I know Jess is looking down on you and will help you through this hard time. She was and always will be your sweet angel! You are all in my thoughts and prayers!

Donna Coonan

September 2, 2008

Dear Patty, Kenny, Nick, and Little Kenny:
As Jess loves you… so do we! You have helped us in so many ways over the years! Jess gave the girls rides to GHS and advice about school. She showed them how to drive and how to light up the room with a smile. Even though Crystal-Lee did not know how to capture a lizard without a girlie scream, Jess did not criticize her. Instead, she taught her about the gentle touch and the fragile stroke of a friend. Samantha learned how to be a companion to Elmo and Simba with the guidance of Jessica’s notes on their collars regarding what to feed or not to feed. Now Patrick is another story… he loves Jess as an older sister because of the diversity of her experiences. She is a skilled athlete, friend, and companion. Jess always taught him about the important things in life…swimming in the pool, feeding the dogs, celebrating a birthday! We Love you Jessica.

God must have needed an angel
With eyes so bright and blue,
To help, to guide, and to smile
Upon everyone of you.
So he took your beautiful Jess
Though he knew how much you cared.
That was always so evident
In all the things you shared.
Now when you see a sunbeam,
Know that God sent it your way.
May it remind you of her beautiful smile,
Which could brighten any day.
And when the day is gloomy,
With grey skies and raindrops many or few,
Remember Jess’s twinkling eyes
And let the raindrops wash away the blue.
When your heart is way to heavy
And you think you can't go on, Remember Jess’s zest for life
May that always make you strong.

Our hearts and prayers are with the Jackman family during this very difficult time. May you find peace in knowing how many people were touched by Jessica in her short life. Her memory will live on in all of us!

Sincerly, Bruce, Deb and Jackie Larsen
