Margaret Davis Obituary

Margaret R. (Garcia) Davis, 89, of Hudson, died Thursday, Aug. 28 at River Terrace Healthcare in Lancaster. She was the wife of Ernest Davis who died in 1968. She was born in Hudson, daughter of the late Jesse and Evelyn (Morin) Garcia and was a 1937 graduate of Saint Michael's Academy in Hudson and 1938 graduate of the Worcester School of Comptometry.

She was a former employee of the Raytheon Co. in Hudson during WWII and Lapointe Machine CO. in Hudson. Mrs. Davis moved to Sunnyvale, CA in 1958 and was employed by Lockheed Martin Corp. until moving to Shrewsbury in 1964. She was employed by the Jamesbury Valve Corp. in Shrewsbury until she retired in 1969.

She was one of the founders of the Saint Joseph the Good Provider Parish in Berlin and a longtime member of the Saint Michael's Church Choir in Hudson.

She is survived by her two sons, John Davis of Baldwinville and Steven Davis of Hudson; her sisters, Ruth Blood and Alice Schneider and her brother, Joseph Garcia, all of Hudson. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late, Ora Carr, Evelyn Costedio, Mary Bonazzoli, James, John, Raymond, Phillip, Michael and Francis Garcia.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 3 at 9:30 a.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central St. Hudson, MA 01749. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 2 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Fisher Center for Alzheimer's Research, One Intrepid Square at W. 46th Street and 12th Avenue, New York, NY 10036.
