Matteo Clemente Obituary

Matteo R. Clemente, 86, of Worcester, died unexpectedly Tuesday, August 26, 2008, eight days after his beloved wife's passing. Laurette "Laura" (Gaulin) Clemente, died August 18.

Matteo is survived by a son, Robert M. Clemente and his wife Judith of Worcester, a daughter, Donna Stewart and her husband Michael of Oxford; five grandchildren, Matthew, Michelle, Kathryn, Heather, and Nicholas, and a great granddaughter, Olivia, and great grandson, Maxsim. Matteo is also survived by a sister, Nancy Isernia and her husband Dominic of Rutland, and several nephews and nieces. Matteo was predeceased by two sisters, Grace and Maria Clemente.

Matteo was born in Foggia, Italy son of Alesio and Philomena (Rinaldi) Clemente and came to the United States as a child. He was a graduate of Worcester Boys Trade School and worked at U.S. Envelope Company for many years before he retired. He served in the United States Navy during WWII. Matteo enjoyed camping, his trips to Florida with Laura, and spending time with his family. He will be missed by his family and friends. Matteo was a long time member of Our Lady of The Angels Church.

Funeral services and burial in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton will be private at the families convenience. There are no calling hours and contributions may be made to The Shriners Hospitals for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Dr., Office of Dev., Tampa, FL 33607-1460. The MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., is assisting the family with arrangements.

Bob and Judy,
We are so sadden for the loss of both your mom and dad. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you, and your entire family.
And we would like to add, our grief and shock, of our good friend Steve. May God take care of them, and let them all be at peace!!!

I did not know you dad, BUT read the obituary and just wanted to offer my sincere condolenscences at this sad time. Please realize that your parents are together again and NOW you will have 2 beautiful angels looking over you all.. God Bless you all.
