Doris Symonowicz Obituary

Doris B. (Dube) Symonowicz, 80, of Pine Street, died Friday, Aug. 29 in Quaboag on the Common Nursing Home in West Brookfield after a long illness. Her husband, Alfred M. Symonowicz, died in 2007.

She leaves a son, Alan M. and his wife Maureen Symonowicz of Leicester; two daughters, Michele M. Houston of San Diego, CA and Diane D. and her husband William T.Griffin of New Braintree; four grandchildren, Alison Symonowicz, Charles J. Houston, IV, William T. Griffin, III and Whitney A. Griffin and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by a son, Mark S. Symonowicz; a sister, Evelyn R. Levasseur and five brothers, Francis A., Wilfred E., George E., Albert N. & Leon E. Dube.

Mrs. Symonowicz was born in Leicester, daughter of Edmund E. and Myrtle A. (Tallman) Dube. She attended Leicester Public Schools. She was a clerk at Sexton Associates Inc., retiring in 1988. Prior to that, she worked for 28 years at Russell Manufacturing Co. in Leicester. She was a member of St. Pius X Church, the Democratic Town Committee, Senior Citizens Club of Leicester and Friends of the Elders.

The funeral will be held Tuesday, Sept. 2 from MORIN - MORRISON FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main Street, Leicester with a Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Pius X Church, 1153 Main St., Leicester. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Leicester. Calling hours are Monday, Sept. 1 from 3:00-5:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer's Assoc., MA Chapter, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472.
